Gary's Vision for Union City
Let's Build a Better
Union City Together!
Vibrant parks and public open spaces
Our commitment extends to preserving and enhancing open spaces and parks, fostering a lifestyle that promotes holistic well-being. We will ensure that recreational facilities remain accessible for public enjoyment. Moreover, as we embark on new housing endeavors, we will create fresh outdoor spaces to complement these developments. Collaboratively, we will partner with local schools, fostering a sharing of their playgrounds and facilities to benefit everyone in our community.
Housing & Development

Union City is a great community for families, and we want to keep it that way. To make sure of that, we need homes that people with different incomes can afford. We can do this by adding more housing near transit and supporting homeowners and small property owners in building extra units on their land. Let's also simplify the process for getting permission to make these changes. We all need to pitch in to tackle this housing issue.
Homelessness
It's important that we reinvest in our streets, public transportation, streets, lighting, and essential services. Gary will work to ensure issues like potholes, tree damages, sidewalk repairs are addressed in a timely manner. Gary will also work to enhance existing structure and add on where needed. We will also work to provide social services and find solutions for homelessness. Our focus is on the well-being of our community.
Economic & Business Development

Gary Singh is a small business owner, and knows the importance of supporting startups and small businesses. As our upcoming mayor, Gary will prioritize attracting high-revenue businesses to our city, which will not only increase public funds and create local jobs but also cater to the community's desire for more local dining and recreational choices. Furthermore, Gary is dedicated to revitalizing Union Landing, making it a vibrant hub for new and exciting businesses.
Budget & Finances

Experience and Record of Defending Taxpayers - Throughout Gary’s tenure, we have witnessed our city's financial challenges being met through the goodwill and active participation of our residents, who have consistently voted for self-imposed tax increases (Parcel tax, Utility Tax, Sales Tax increase extension). Conversations with district residents have shown Gary a crucial insight: our community is ready and willing to invest in a brighter future, as long as we witness tangible results from our contributions. His track record is a testament to the commitment to defending taxpayers' interests, and he is dedicated to maintaining this stance moving forward.
Public Safety
Currently, Union City operates with just four officers on duty for a significant portion of the time, translating to roughly one officer per 17,000 residents. This falls short of adequately addressing the surge in thefts, hate crimes, and reckless activities like sideshows that have been escalating. Moreover, budget constraints have led to the closure of a fire station within the city. This is concerning, especially when considering that a considerable portion of our population is aged 65 and above. In situations where every minute counts, as with medical emergencies, timely response can mean the difference between life and death. Our city must prioritize investing in public safety to safeguard our aging community and counter the increase in crime and theft incidents.
